Bird Construction Inc. says construction executive Terrance McKibbon has joined the organization as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he will report to the president and CEO, and will serve as a member of the executive leadership team operating from the company’s Calgary office.
Bird says McKibbon, who previously was Aecon Group Inc.‘s president and CEO, will lead Bird’s construction operations “to further enhance the firm’s position as a premier Canadian contractor driven by the passion and dedication of our team of construction professionals.”
“We welcome Teri to Bird and are excited to have him join our company,” Bird president and CEO Ian Boyd said in a statement. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Canadian construction market with a proven track record of success. His expertise and leadership will help drive our performance as well as advance our strategic initiatives to further diversify our business.”
McKibbon has more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry “where he is recognized for his strategic capabilities, dedication and operational excellence,” the news release said. Before joining Bird, he spent more than two decades with Aecon Group Inc. where he held positions in senior management and executive roles. In his last three years at Aecon Group Inc. he held the position of president and Chief Executive Officer.
