Fundamentals of Economic Development course offered in Edmonton

The Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) is encouraging its members to start the course program leading leading to EcD certification, the national designation for economic development professionals.

The five-day course is offered in Edmonton, Alberta by the University of Waterloo’s School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED) from May 5 to 8.

Modules in “Year 1 — Fundamentals of Community Economic Development” include:

YEAR 1 – Fundamentals of Community Economic Development

  • The Roles of the EDO
  • Models for Community Economic Development:  Canadian and International
  • The Canadian Economy:  Economic Issues Facing Local Economic Development
  • Labour and Skills Development

Early-bird rates are available until March 31 and registration/accommodation information can be gathered at this site.
