Surrey city council recently gave preliminary approval to a new design for the Legion Veterans Village.
The project will replace Whalley Legion Brand 229 at 13525 106 Avenue and is a tandem project between Royal Canadian Legion BC/Yukon Command and local developer Lark Group.
According to the Daily Hive, the $66 million Legion Veterans Village facility will provide Canadian veterans and first responders with a state-of-the-art facility for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and mental health treatment.
There will also be a 10,000-square-foot replacement Legion space within the complex. This latest redesign in the brainchild of Wensley Architecture.
A third reading and public hearing are scheduled for June 25.
