EllisDon won Vancouver Regional Construction Association’s (VRCA) 2022 Silver Excellence Awards for work on the Penticton Regional Hospital – Phase 2 and Royal Inland Hospital Patient Care Tower – Phase 1.

Gold Award winners in their respective categories will be selected from Silver Award winners and announced at the Gala in October.
The Royal Inland Hospital Patient Care Tower – Phase 1 was recognized in the General Contractors – Over $50 million category. Targeting LEED Gold, Phase 1 of the project includes the construction of a tower with single-patient rooms, mental health services, surgical beds, a new surgical suite, a perinatal centre and private labour and delivery rooms, and neonatal intensive care unit.
The Penticton Regional Hospital – Phase 2 project was recognized in the General Contractors – Tenant Improvement – Over $15 Million category. After EllisDon completed the hospital’s new Patient Care Tower, work on Phase 2 began with the renovation of the existing hospital, including an expanded Emergency Department as well as Pharmacy, Material Stores and Laundry.
These project-specific awards recognize the VRCA’s member companies and feature industrial, commercial, institutional, multi-family residential, and special projects.

Criteria included financial benchmarks, use of innovative techniques, challenges and resolutions, safety records, and/or exceptional project management.
All Silver Award winners will be recognized at the Awards of Excellence Gala on October 26, 2022, at the Vancouver Convention Centre West.
