LG Energy Solution and Doosan Bobcat have announced a new collaboration aimed at developing battery pack solutions specifically for compact construction equipment.
The partnership will focus on creating standardized battery systems that can be used with a range of machines, including skid-steer loaders and excavators. The goal is to support the growing demand for electric-powered equipment on job sites, where emissions regulations and sustainability targets are becoming more important.
In addition to compact equipment, the two companies also plan to explore electrification of other equipment including grounds maintenance machines. Doosan Bobcat will incorporate LG Energy Solution’s cylindrical battery technology into its core equipment lineup. These batteries are known for high power output, energy density, and durability—key features for machines operating in harsh outdoor environments with exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, moisture, and heavy-duty cycles.
LG Energy Solution brings strong technical expertise to the table, with batteries that have already proven their performance in demanding conditions. This makes them a solid fit for construction equipment that must deliver reliability and uptime under pressure.
Doosan Bobcat is accelerating its electrification roadmap. The company launched a dedicated electrification division earlier this year and plans to open a new R&D center in South Korea in the second half of 2025. The facility will focus on battery integration and testing, helping bring next-generation electric equipment to market.
