The RONA Foundation, which manages the charitable efforts of RONA Inc., one of Canada’s top home improvement retailers, is launching its second Home Sweet Home campaign for 2024. The campaign, which runs from September 1 to 30, aims to raise funds to improve living conditions and help Canadians access housing. This initiative will take place at all RONA stores, including corporate and affiliated locations, as well as participating distribution centers.
The campaign will support nearly 150 Canadian non-profits that assist victims of domestic violence, low-income families, and individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges. “Everyone deserves a safe place to live. This is a cause I deeply care about, especially given the current housing challenges many Canadians face,” says Josée Lafitte, Director of the RONA Foundation.
Customers shopping at RONA stores will be invited to make donations to support local causes, and those shopping online at rona.ca can also contribute.
“Our store and distribution center teams are excited about this important cause, as each team selects a local organization to support. Many smaller non-profits struggle with fundraising without the backing of a large organization, which we can provide,” explains Catherine Laporte, Chair of the RONA Foundation Board of Directors and Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Customer Experience at RONA.
The RONA Foundation, established in 1998, marked its 25th anniversary in 2023 by updating its mission to enhance the quality of life for Canadians in need by improving living environments and easing access to housing.
