Plans for a new Saskatoon City Centre School are moving forward, with six contractors shortlisted to submit bids.

A “project rationale” published by Saskatoon Public Schools says the project’s estimated budget is $29 million.
The Government of Saskatchewan is funding the enw school, which will draw upwards of 400 students from the Princess Alexandra, King George and Pleasant Hill neighbourhoods. Classes will be from Prekindergarten to Grade 8, with 74 child care spaces and additional community services, a release states.
The shortlisted firms will now proceed to the tender stage, where they are invited to provide detailed submissions to bid on the construction contract.
Construction is expected to begin after procurement process has concluded.
