Special to the GTA Construction Report
When CMPX 2014 opens on Wednesday, March 19, many attendees will be heading straight to the Skills Centre (http://cmpxshow.com/skills-centre.cfm) to watch, or participate in the skills competitions.
This is just one of the many great features at CMPX 2014, Canada’s national trade show for the air conditioning, heating (forced air and hydronics), hearth, plumbing, piping, refrigeration and ventilation industries, the show organizers say.
The Skills Centre, located at the west side of the show floor, is organized by the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) and it is designed to showcase the skills and knowledge required to be a successful heating systems technician.
From Wednesday, March 19 to Friday, March 21, secondary and post-secondary students along with industry professionals will compete for bragging rights and accolades in industry-specific competitions. These events also offer hundreds of students from across Ontario the opportunity not only to cheer on their classmates as they compete, but also a chance for them to learn more about the HVACR industry as they visit the trade show exhibits.
