The British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) is pleased to welcome Ross McLean to the position of Board Chair. Ross has served as Vice Chair of the BCCA Board since 2011, and we are pleased to have his leadership and vision for the construction industry.
Ross is an industry veteran, a partner and Director of Houle Electric; he is their current Branch Manager for southern Vancouver Island, based in Victoria. He started his career at Houle Electric in their Prince George office in 1979 as an estimator and project manager, gaining experience in industrial, institutional and commercial work, eventually moving to Victoria in 1986 to work as Service Manager.
In 1993, Ross accepted a position with AT&T Bell Labs in their Network Services Division. After a five-year tenure managing their systems fiber and copper business for Western Canada, Ross returned to Houle Electric to become Division Manager of the Network Systems and BMCS Controls Divisions for Vancouver Island. In 2001, Ross became Branch Manager in Victoria.
As Chair of BCCA, Ross sees the challenges and potential ahead for the construction industry and is looking forward to enhancing the value that BCCA and its regional partners bring to British Columbians.
He is looking forward to co-chairing the Deputy Minister’s Infrastructure Forum and helping the construction industry ‘give back’ through the new Construction Foundation of BC.
Ross was chair of the Vancouver Island Construction Association in 2010 and is also a member of the Electrical Contractors Association of BC, having served as Chair for the Prince George and Vancouver Island regional chapters. He proudly holds a Red Seal Trade Certification in the electrical trade.
